Bird on a Wire Branding

Bird on a Wire is a wonderful little boutique in Franklin, Indiana featuring repurposed, recycled and refurbished merchandise from local, Indiana Artisans.

Amy was a pleasure to work with as we developed Bird on a Wire's identity, business cards, hangtag stamp system, signage and website

Check her out on Facebook and swing by the shop if you've got a free afternoon. It's amazing!

Dig-IN Overview Part 4 : Web Design and Social Media Footprint

Last week, we shared our print work for Dig-IN 2011, showing how the art direction from Mood Boarding translates to final promotional pieces. This week we're talking Dig-IN website and social media!

During Mood Boarding, our team selected some beautiful photography, ranging from gorgeous sweeping farmscapes to tight shots of delicious food. For this reason, we viewed the website as a great place to emphasize the Farm to Fork connection by rolling in some beautiful Indiana food photos. To bring the "Indie Scene" aspect of the Dig-IN brand into the fold, we gave everything a slight "Hipstamatic" tint.

This photo-driven approach makes it easier to update the look and feel of the site as the event evolves in the future.

Dig-IN Overview Part 3 : Print Design!

Now that we've been through all the positioning and foundational research surrounding Dig-IN, we can start looking at design work! With that final Mood Board curated, we develop a list of deliverables and start sketching based on the elements our clients curated through the Mood Boarding process.

Check Presenters and Tickets

The Check Presenters are distributed to participating Dig-IN restaurants all over Indiana and given to customers with their bill. They provide a cool keepsake leading up to the event and a direct line to the website and ticket purchasing info.

Dig-IN Overview Part 2 : Building Mood Boards & the Mood Boarding Event

We founded CODO on the belief that we can create better design by directly including our clients in the creative process, from important stuff like positioning to the fun, more intuitive art direction. In a typical design brief, people use words like "hip" or "classy" with no further definition of what they mean. By putting a huge board of images, colors, typography and textures in front of a board of directors and letting them pick what they feel best represents their vision, we get a crystal clear idea of what the client expects. Even simpler, the overall goal of our Hands-on Branding process is to get everyone on the same page.

Dig-IN Overview Part 1 : Research, Framing & Event Positioning

(download)
There's a hefty amount of revelry involved in landing big work, or any new work really. But winning Dig-IN was enormous for our small firm and after a week of administrative wrangling and celebration, we began wading into what would become the largest project we've handled to date.

Dig-IN Recap : Nonprofit Event Branding

It's a bit heartbreaking but after five solid months of work, Dig-IN has come and gone. We've branded several Indianapolis nonprofit events but none that kept us too busy to share what were doing along the way. So what we're going to do, rather than compose a 12,000 word opus, is post a step by step walkthrough of our entire Hands-on Branding process with the folks at Dig-IN over the next four to five weeks.

Whether you're interested in learning more about our branding process, seeing some delicious food photos or just want to watch as we lose our minds a little in the homestretch, we'll be covering the following:

Week 1 : Research, Framing & Positioning

Week 2 : Building Mood Boards & the Mood Boarding Event

Week 3 : Print Design!

Week 4 : Web Design and Social Media Footprint

Week 5: Event Signage, Day of Shots, Food & Sun burns

Stay tuned!
